The coordinates are all-important!

Second zoom: The exact geographical
co-ordinates of the sundial's location
provide the basis for the calculation of
the direction of the sun's rays, which
hit the sundial's mirror on 1 May 2002
at 16:00 hours CET (summer time). If
the sundial is placed at a different
location, the direction of the sun's
rays at this point in time will be
different. This means that each sundial
is unique, since it can only function
absolutely accurately at the location
for which it was designed.
